In my family, Peter seems the most concerned with skin color, although Lily does remind me from time to time that she would like to straighten her hair (I know, crazy, right? Don’t worry: it’s not happening on my dime). When he was getting his Luke Skywalker ensemble together last week, he told me that he couldn’t REALLY be Luke. Not because Luke lived long ago in a galaxy far away, or because Luke can pilot aircraft, or because he uses magical weapons, but because Luke has “golden” skin and Peter doesn’t.
I hope soon he will figure out that Han Solo is much more cool. And that he can pretend to be anything or anyone he wants.

Tell Lily that I will take her hair ANY DAY!!! And let Peter know that Mace Windu kicks any Skywalker’s butt (even if the newer movies are kind of lame).
It’s pure crazy, right? Just a grass is greener situation, though. I don’t know the new movies–I guess I’ll see them with my boys sometime.
