After Church, we headed up to the Kakamega rainforest, to one of my favorite places: Rondo Retreat. What’s not to love? It’s in the rainforest, they serve you tea (the meal, not the drink), cushy cushy beds, butterflies, monkeys, clean-living. It’s heaven!

We saw LOTS of monkeys and funky-looking birds. I am sure bird-people would be appalled at how little we value the birds that we saw. Speaking of appalling, check this out:

Yes! My children traveled 7,000 miles to a rainforest to play legos! They were so excited, not having seen legos in more than a week. PJ told me he knew when things happened in his life, based on whether it was pre- or post- legos. He got his first legos for his fifth birthday, and everything comes before or after. I think they were just relieved there were no cousins around to swipe them.

Oh! Even more appalling:

What can I say? It was 30 minutes before dinner, and they were DRIVING ME CRAZY. I suggested they play a game and they acquiesced. Thank heavens!
