The Best Worst Weekend Ever

June 17, 2012

When you’re getting away from your kids for more than 24 hours for the first time, and planning to cross international borders, and see one of your very favorite bands in the whole world who you have never seen before and you get there and the stage has collapsed and killed someone and the concert is canceled and you are disappointed and shocked and morose, this is the girl you want to be with

We pulled ourselves together and hit Ikea and ate some Portuguese and slept in a hotel room from bizarro world.

Fantastically frenchy crepes and some magical lemon and mint drink fueled us through the Bata Shoe Museum and rescued this weekend. Oh, and all the talking. There’s no yapping like college roommate yapping. Hope Melissa invites me to fly across the country for a canceled concert sometime soon!

You look fabulous – I love your fun hair! Sorry about the concert, but y’all definitely made the best of it!

Wow!! I’ve been reading about the Radiohead show and am so sorry that, a) that poor guy died, and b) you guys missed the show. You both look GREAT, though, and I love your hair, Emily!

I definitely can’t feel too sorry for myself, since it turned out so much better for me then some others. I felt worse for Melissa, having flown out, but we did have fun together.

Morrissey just announced dates for his U.S. tour. I’m sure we could pick some concert dates that might also get cancelled!

I’m all in for October 19th in Niagara Falls–what better way to celebrate Columbus Day?

Hey you two! Sorry about the misadventures in Toronto (that poor drum technician). Yes, the hotel room is kind of strange. Did you watch the same Cary Grant movie while talking to each other on the phone (or shouting over the headboard)?

Lolz–clearly, we should have called YOU for a contingency plan–that is the PERFECT use for this layout!
