Going great until…

February 20, 2012

Today was going great.

Morning museum visit.

Lunch at our favorite Dog Town.

Afternoon Quidditch with the neighbors.

Until my son cried himself to sleep because he had expected to be sleeping at his (AWOL) Baba’s house. I felt like crying too, partly because it was $5 night at The Little and I really wanted to see a non-animated movie, but mostly because my child was needlessly disappointed; I generally circumvent this sort of situation by keeping expectations low. This time, this time I failed to obscure the plan from my children and when it didn’t happen, it was my disappointment to deal with. Oh, and I won’t be sleeping in tomorrow.

So I’d like to hear how to “overcome anger” at this point.

    This makes me sad.

    Also, a non-animated or pet-themed movie would be nice…

SO sorry. It is a good thing your kids have the dang coolest mom to counter the crummy times.
