Pumpkin Pickers

October 25, 2010

I am officially over pumpkins (but not like this guy–whoa). That’s a shame as we still have not carved ours, and there is a week to go before Halloween, and then, of course, pumpkin season stretches until Thanksgiving. Back before I was sick of the pumpkins, though, we went and got ours. We hayrode.

We selected. We paid. We carried. Tonight we carve. I guess. If we must, and my kids say we must.

Instead of our normal ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins and cut them off the vine, we did a much less-satisfying selection at a lame-o farm market, where the pumpkins are just lined up. Bor-ring. Maybe that is my problem. Next year, I’ll repent and make sure we go more authentic. Ha.
