Wow

September 21, 2010

I have always thought Rochester was a pretty segregated city, and I have known by statistics that I was right. But to have it displayed pictorially like this is still fairly shocking. Eric Fischer plotted American cities with colored dots according to race.

Red is White, Blue is Black, Green is Asian, Orange is Hispanic, Gray is Other, and each dot is 25 people. Data from Census 2000.

Click on the image to see other US cities. We have a long way to go, baby.
