Overheard…

May 18, 2010

…at dinner.

Scene: A man eating dinner with his young son (2 or 3 years old).

After a little chit-chat over dinner, the man answers his phone and proceeds to have a lengthy conversation, ending with: “Well, I better go. I’m here with Leopold and people are judging my parenting for being on the phone.”

While I generally do judge people who a) interrupt a conversation with a real live person to answer the phone, and b) talk to adults on the phone when they are on an outing with their children, that seemed pretty benign compared to the fact that he named his young innocent son Leopold.
