Egg Hunt

April 13, 2009

An Easter-Egg hunt is not on my list of Easter Must-Dos, but we happened to be playing at a playground where a hunt was occurring on Friday, and it took all the restraint in Lily’s body NOT to pick up an egg (she found them all too often) and I said we might do one of our own to prevent her head from exploding.  We colored eggs on Saturday, and so after Church today I hid them around my parent’s yard (2 by 2, aren’t I clever?)  It only took about 2 minutes, but it seemed to fill the egg-sized whole in Lily’s life.

Incidentally, Catherine thought it was gross that I hid real eggs, what do you think?

I think its only gross if not all of the eggs are found (which means keeping track of all the ones that are hidden).

Well I’ve seen that Gilmore Girls, so I made sure that wasn’t possible. Kirk came and drew me a map of where we hid all the eggs.

We hide real eggs. We do it the night before and last year…DISASTER. Jimmy ate every one he could find. Seriously. We were much smarter this year. He got locked up, the eggs’ only natural enemy now is Jack…Real eggs are the way to go for family hunts.

    I will confess: I also hid 4 play-doh eggs.
