Peter has pretty good eyes and likes to ID the things he sees. He has long been in the know about Jesus. and there is not much sweeter than hearing a beginning talker point out “Jesus!” even when he is pointing at the picture of Moroni burying the plates. Generally, he gets it right. A mom can never tire of that sweet sweet “Jesus.”

Until it became clear that Peter pronounces his stuffed rat “Cheesus.” Which to a 2-year-old is identical to “Jesus.” How unsweet.

One of my biggest triumphs as a parent was to hold off Lily on her relentless pleas to go to Chuck E. Cheeses. I told her it was a Baba thing, and it worked. It IS a Baba thing. Unfortunately, Baba not only satiates them by taking them to that forsaken place, but he BUYS them things they bring home. To MY home.

I don’t know. I have never been, and never will.

I have discovered that students who have worked at Chuck C Cheese are absolutely unflappable research and teaching assistants…

Sure–it’s like the military training soldiers to withstand torture.

I’ve been once, for a birthday party. I hated every second of it. You couldn’t pay me to go back. More than a year later, though, Jack still asks when we’re going back. I told him his dad can take him. 🙂
